Objectives:

To generate extensive discourse on the principal themes of a) understanding development issues, b) creating tools for reflection within communities and c) generating indigenous, sustainable and generative actions for self-reliance Engaging various themes grounded in human and development, and various research methodologies to contextualize individual work for communities Building capacities and skills to articulate complex development scenario through reflections, presentations and quantitative analysis, and computer skills To generate local case studies in the frame work of themes from different area of Pakistan which will be helpful for analyzing development paradigms in Pakistan

What Kind of Courses we Offer?

IDSP offers unique, creative and reflective course for bolstering the intellectual and technical capacities of different groups of motivated individuals from various fields of education, research and development. It equips learners with knowledge, understanding, skills and values to work for a people centered and low cost community development and change models. This course offers advanced study in peer groups with education and community development professionals, experienced teaching staff and field practice supervisors. The different NGOs, educational institutes and universities have already appreciated this course as government of Balochistan has donated land for the campus.

What is the Conceptual Framework?

The conceptual framework of the learning processes consists of following salient features. Connecting self to the World: Social entrepreneur will be encouraged to analyze and develop an understanding of, and ability to communicate, their personal reality, including self, family, and community, provincial, national and international perspectives. It will include cumulative theory, practice, reflection and reviews sessions.

Practicing the Connections: Understanding the historical, political, economic and social development of the world and connecting this to today’s complex personal and global realities. This segment will develop the connection of an individual to the glob through all the logical links, it carries intense readings exercises, discussions, field exposures and, simulation exercise. Family Development: This segment of the learning process helps in the understanding of family as the basic institution for civil society development and growth, focusing on the practice of self discipline and engaging with ordinary people especially women, young girls and small children in communities.

Conceptualizing Social Development Projects: In this particular segment each Learner/Social entrepreneurs develop a conceptual framework for his/her own development processes and projects. The Social entrepreneurs reconcile the over all theoretical and practice learning and translate it in a formal practice plan. The plan tends to create and develop innovative and sustainable models of livelihood, education and justice.

In order to translate the Retreat lessons into planning and practice, a strategic planning exercise was initiated by IDSP which give logical emergence to Its different programs. The

How we conduct the Courses?

The theory and practice based courses compulsory residential, all the learners Male and female are provided with segregated residential opportunity from Institute. The individual have to participate and contribute as active learners in the learning discourse. A routine day learning processes during the residential courses is as under.
